Why don't we use Bedouin tents for our nativity scenes? And why do we never see camels among the angels and donkeys?
What trivial things do YOU wonder?

I was perplexed the other day when you mentioned this. I remember my sister and I setting up our nativity. There were several lambs, a donkey... and two camels. They were so fascinating.
Good for you! Maybe I shoulda asked why I had never SEEN a camel. You are way ahead of me, obviously...as usual. ;)
Ha, i was contemplating a nativity scene the other day. I realized how clean and nice all the clothes were. When really, they probably were not that clean.
Violet,
I was just thinking about how gratuitously sanitized both the Nativity and the Crucifixion are in our contemporary depictions.
Is it because thinking about the blood, stink, dirt, violence, etc. makes us uncomfortable?
(And now I'm asking myself if I'd actually go and buy a porcelain pile of manure to add to my Nativity set... hmmmmm... would I now?)
