BRIGHT LIGHT

"I wanted to make someone a sympathy card in case they know someone who has died. Jesus can shine a bright light on their sadness." - Ellie

"This is the moment the angel appeared to the shepherds. The light is so bright that everything turns white. You can't see the shepherds because they are off the page." - Rebekah

When I first saw, "Bright Light", I thought this was going to be easy. But it has been a little more challenging than I thought!

What a great week of meditation. I have really enjoyed both weeks of contemplation.

My thoughts are shared in today's post on my blog. http://www.schweersmomshouse.blogspot.com/ I can't wait to read what everyone has to say!

My thoughts haven't coalesced enough yet to make a blog post out of them. I keep thinking about how bright lights blind us and how our minds and hearts seem to work like that, too...when we see something big and major and new, we sort of stagger around internally for a while. I wonder what seeing Jesus did for the people around him, in those first few moments and days...if they forgot themselves entirely in awe and wonder of him.

Yes, surprisingly, I found Barn Smells more "tangible".

"stagger around internally"! Wow. What a great way of putting it. That's the way I feel a lot these days.

Check out the great pictures on mutating missionary.

Barn Smells and a Bright Light

Last week I thought of a manure spreader from my days of growing up. It looks like a big wagon that spews dried manure out the back and across the field. I have a vision in my mind of the thing full, on a cold fall day, while waiting for the school bus. Steam rising, spreading more than it's goods.

...my righteousness is as smelly, filthy rags...

Operating room, floodlights at the scene of an accident, spotlights on stage.

Exposure, intervention, clarity, focus...

...the Light intervenes and my righteousness is exposed...

For now I sit in the circle of intervening light, exposed and seen, while soaking in the glory of the Lord.

Anxiously awaiting tomorrow...
